our
story
We think that global classical music has something important to offer us all – shared joy, catharsis, a connection to a distant time and place, or a visceral expression of the world we live in.
With that belief in mind, in 2020 we decided that we wanted to find a way to give as many people as possible the chance to experience this music live. As two classical music fanatics who were also die-hard indie gig-goers we decided to see what happened if we put instrumental chamber music in a standing gig format.
We started with some small gigs in local pubs and clubs, organised in our spare time as a passion project, but soon the concerts grew in size and we got completely obsessed with taking our work further afield and reaching as many people as possible. We quickly realised that we had to do the opposite of dumbing down – the more radical and committed the performers were the better the audience response, but the music didn’t need to change.
Hundreds of noisenights later, the format remains essentially the same: mostly standing venues, a one-hour-ish classical set, world-class musicians, and a welcoming and music-obsessed audience. We platform international soloists and ensembles while also giving opportunities to outstanding new artists, and we only work with venues who share our values.
Since 2025, we have also supported and produced other concerts besides noisenights. We want to reach as many people as possible, and so we now produce concerts of all shapes and sizes in theatres, monasteries, warehouses, markets and concert halls alongside our noisenights series.
So get involved. Live music needs you more than ever. Buy a ticket or back a noisenight and in return you’ll hear the world's best performers up close and become part of a community supporting important, powerful, live classical music.
