noisenights | frequently asked questions
+ what happens at a noisenight?

Most noisenights features two 45-60 minute classical sets, one early evening, one late. Both sets are identical, so pick which suits your plans better. For some we start with just a late set on-sale, but we're always ready to add an early set should depending on demand.

The venue opens around an hour before the early evening set (check the specific noisenight page for precise timings). Guests can order drinks from the bar before the set starts and drinks are allowed during the performance, but the bar is closed during the set.

Ticket-holders for the early set are asked to leave after the music has concluded so that we can get ready for the late set.

The late set works in a similar way, except that after the classical music finishes, there is often more live music - usually in the form of jazz, latin, afrobeat, swing or funk bands. The bar stays open til late and tickets to the late set include access to the rest of the night.

+ why crowdfunding?

We want to make great classical music viable for years to come, and we think crowdfunding is one powerful way for live music to bounce back from the pandemic.

Our backers are a community building live music back stronger than ever, and they're rewarded with tickets to amazing concerts and priority booking for future events.

+ how do crowdfunded events work / when will I be sent my tickets?

When you back a noisenight, we’ll send you a confirmation email which includes the event’s details and how much you've backed.

As soon as the event has reached its funding goal, we’ll inform you by email and let you know your rewards. At the latest, this will be two weeks before the event. Tickets rewards are then sent out separately in the morning of the event.

+ what if the event doesn’t reach its required target?

In the unlikely situation that with two weeks to go the event hasn’t reached its funding target, we’ll cancel it and all contributors will get an immediate full refund.

We’re pretty confident, however, that this will never happen. Almost every concert weve ever publicised has sold out, and we don’t ever want to ever waste our audience's or contributors' time.

+ are there any service charges / extra box office fees?

No. We know that there are extra costs to the promoter for selling tickets and processing payments, but we think that it’s often a little misleading to pass these on in addition to the ticket price stated. If you chose to contribute £15 for a ticket, it’ll cost you £15 only.

Some of our venues sell their own tickets which may have extra fees added on, but if you buy direct at throughthenoise.co.uk you'll always get the cheapest price with no hidden fees at checkout.

+ do you give refunds / can I change my tickets to another performance?

If an event is cancelled - for whatever reason - you will be contacted and offered a full and immediate refund.

If you’ve decided that you don’t want to come anymore, we can only offer refunds in specific circumstances. We address these on a case-by-case basis.

If we have other noisenights on-sale at that point, you may be able to switch your contribution to another event, dependent on availability. This may incur extra charges.

+ can I buy tickets on the door?

If an event hasn’t sold-out, you may be able to pick up some last minute tickets - there may also be a limited number of tickets for post-late set entry, where you can enjoy informal live music with a drink.

We’ll announce this availability on our twitter / instagram, so make sure you’re following us @through_t_noise. Please note that if an event is listed as sold out on our website, there will be no availability on the door. Please do not travel to the venue in these cases, as they can get in trouble with the local authorities.

+ what is the minimum age limit?

Due to the venues that most noisenights are in - be that a bar, club, or similar - we do have to enforce age restrictions. Most events are strictly 18+. If there is an exception, it will be clearly stated on the individual page for that noisenight.

The mission of through the noise is to inspire everyone with classical music, and so if you're under the age of 18, or are a parent wishing to attend a classical music event with your children, please do get in touch and we'll recommend some age appropriate events.

+ what are the terms and conditions?

All of our terms and conditions can be found here.

+ how can I get in touch with more questions?

We’re available to contact by email seven days a week. When you’re sent your tickets, we’ll also include a dedicated phone number in case you need to get in touch with us urgently. Contact us here.
