The Ragged Music Festival is returning to Mile End’s Ragged School Museum for the third instalment of their world-class showcase of chamber music.

The festival was conceived as the founder’s dreamed of a stripped down and candid environment for genuine music making, devoid of pomp and glamour.

This is made possible by the venue; the stunning Ragged School Museum. A group of three canalside buildings which once formed the largest “ragged” (free) school in London, the rooms have been preserved in their stripped-back Victorian state.

It’s format has meant that the festival has gained a strong following with those seeking an alternative to the formality of traditional concert settings.

As casual as it is, it has become a platform for some of the most serious and devoted music making one may witness in London, by some of the world’s finest musicians of all generations.

“In these past months, just like you, we’ve had our generous share of silence and solitude. We’ve had some very dark thoughts as well as some truly magical moments, and above all we lived sustained by friendship and hope. Like the majority of the world, we still don’t know where we are going, but we’ve set out to try everything possible to make the 3rd Ragged Music Festival happen!”

- Samson Tsoy & Pavel Kolesnikov

The festival runs from 21-23 May, with two performances each night:
