25 new noisenights to tour 9 cities this autumn

After two years of sold-out shows, we announced on Tuesday that our crowdfunded classical gigs noisenights are expanding to 22 venues across the UK, with 25 shows between 17 September and 17 December 2023.

This autumn’s line-up features Fatma Said, Manchester Collective, Abel Selaocoe & The Bantu Ensemble, Alexandra Whittingham, Misha Mullov-Abbado, Thibaut Garcia, Lodestar Trio, Junyan Chen, Braimah Kanneh-Mason and Jeneba Kanneh-Mason.

Among the venues hosting classical shows for the first time are Camden’s iconic KOKO, the Tyneside warehouse where Stephenson’s Rocket was built, and a wind turbine factory in Liverpool’s dockside. We expect that over 25,000 people will have been to a noisenight come the end of the year, thanks to the support of our committed crowdfunding community.

It’s a significant milestone for us, having began less than two years ago in grassroots venues around London. Building on the success of our sold-out tour last year with Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Harry Baker, we’re now launching regular noisenights in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton and London.

Transitioning from an East London-based promoter to a national organisation, we’ve committed to take no less than five projects on tour around the UK between October and December.

We’ve also launched a partnership with Warner Classics, which sees three of the label’s leading international artists perform for enthusiastic noisenight audiences across the country. Following the success of their respective noisenights last year, Fatma Said and Abel Selaocoe will return to perform sets from their latest award-winning albums, with Abel embarking on his first tour with us.

Since our inception, we’ve hosted dedicated album launch events, bringing international names to the UK for one-off appearances in front of new audiences. In his noisenight debut, Warner-signed guitarist Thibaut Garcia will introduce his next album on the Erato label, El Bohemio in October.

From our directors, Jack and Jack:

“We see today as a turning point: after two years of steadily growing demand for our grassroots classical gigs in London and our first two sold-out tours, we’ve decided to take the plunge and bring regular noisenights to audiences from Glasgow to Brighton.”

“We’re so grateful for the committed support of our community of classical fans, who continue to allow us to take international names to community venues around the country, and we can’t wait to present this awe-inspiring line up of musicians. Every single performer we’re hosting has the rare power to move and inspire people, and I can’t wait to give more audiences the chance to experience them up close”
